The Alys Stephens Center presents educational opportunities for children throughout the year. Whether you're interested in a weekend workshop or summer camp we provide the resources you need.
Acting Out Theatre Workshop
- Classes begin Saturday, September 26 and run through November 21, from 10am to Noon.
- The Showcase Performance is at Noon on Saturday, November 21.
- Classes are held in the Reynolds-Kirschbaum Recital Hall.
- Session 1: June 15-26, 2009, School House Rock Live! Jr.
- Session 2: July 6 -17, 2009, Willy Wonka Jr.
- Session 3: July 20-31, 2009, Disney's Aladdin Jr.

ASC drama camps always sell out!
The Alys Stephens Center and Make It Happen Theatre Company are proud to announce the Fall Session of the Acting Out Theatre Workshop for children ages 8 -14.
Acting Out Theatre Workshop is a nine-week experience that shares with children the mechanics of acting and performance. Participants will learn theatre games, improvisation, warm-up and concentration exercises, voice and diction, theatre terminology, character development, and minimal musical theatre basics through a variety of fun, yet intense classes.

Your kids will love drama camp
Best of all, the children will get a chance to showcase their newly developed skills when the workshop culminates with a Showcase Production open to all parents and friends.
Alicia Johnson-Reed and Jennifer Kelley Salvant will instruct the workshop along with other professional performance instructors. The classes are programmed for students who are seriously interested in performance, as well as for those who just want to have fun.
Classes will be on Saturday mornings from 10 a.m. to Noon at the Alys Stephens Center. The Fall workshop will be $100 per student. To enroll your child in the

Campers enjoy the production of
The drama camp is a two-week experience that shares with children the wonder and detail of theater performance. Campers will be introduced to many aspects of theater with a variety of fun, intense classes. They can learn theater games, improvisation, warm-ups, concentration exercises, voice and diction, terminology, acting, and stage production.
Best of all, the children will get a chance to showcase their newly developed skills when the camp culminates in a production. The camp's big show will be completely produced
by campers and open to all parents and friends. Auditions will
be required for casting.

Camp teachers are Alicia Johnson-Reed, artistic director; Quinton Cockrell, acting instructor and director; Henry Hearns, choreographer; Freida Hall, set designer/artist; and Bill Harris, musical director.
